The 2020 CTBUH Awards announced the Lakhta Center a five-time winner, receiving Awards of Excellence

The Lakhta Center project reached the final in five nominations for the Award of Excellence (“For Contribution to Development”) in the international competition held by the Council for High-Rise Buildings and Urban Environment (CTBUH). It is the world’s premier competition for high-rise, innovative construction and urban development. The shortlist includes more than 60 projects that represent the best high-rise buildings, urban projects, technologies and innovations that have emerged in recent years around the world.

The Award of Excellence winners move on to the next stage – defending projects at the CTBUH 2020 Tall + Urban Innovation Conference. They will compete in front of an international audience and jury for the Best in Category. According to the results of the competition, the World’s Best High-Rise Building of 2020 will be selected.

Lakhta Center claims to win in the following nominations:

Best Tall Building, category 400+
Tall Building Façade Engineering (“Execution of engineering and design works: facade of high-rise buildings”)
Tall Building Structural Engineering (“Construction design of high-rise buildings”)
Tall Building Construction (“Construction of high-rise buildings”)
Tall Building Geotechnical Engineering (“Geotechnical design of high-rise buildings”)

GORPROJECT has performed a full range of services for the design of the multifunctional complex: architectural, structural, engineering and special sections of design documentation. Also, GORPROJECT carried out field supervision at the facility.
