Lakhta Center won the Green Awards eco-award

Lakhta Center Multifunctional Complex won the 10th Green Awards – a competition in the field of eco-development and green construction.

Designed by architects, designers and engineers of the Russian company GORPROJECT, the 462 m high Lakhta Center tower became the only “green” tower in Europe that was awarded a “platinum” certificate in terms of energy efficiency and environmental sustainability due to numerous innovative elements, technologies and engineering systems.Lakhta Center is an ultra-modern complex with an area of ​​400,000 square meters, built in St. Petersburg on the shores of the Gulf of Finland.

The office space of the complex will be occupied by the structures of the Gazprom group, a third of the area will be reserved for conceptual public spaces: an open amphitheater, a pedestrian embankment, an observation deck, a transforming concert hall, a children’s scientific and educational center with a planetarium, panoramic restaurants and galleries.

The new headquarters of Gazprom is officially recognized as the greenest building in Russia. Following the results of the eco-audit, the Lakhta Center tower received a LEED certificate of the highest, platinum, level. In total, the building managed to score 82 points out of 110 possible.

GORPROJECT has performed the full range of services for the design of the multifunctional complex: architectural, structural, engineering and special sections of design documentation. Also, GORPROJECT carries out architectural supervision at the facility.
